I head going into the military uneducated(college) gives you less of a pay.

It does. There is enlistee and officer. Officers make basically 3 times the pay grade of an enlistee.

Having a certain amount of college credits will get you up to an E-3. If you have a bachelor's degree you can opt in for Officer's Candidacy School and become an officer (takes a year or so to become one) which will increase your pay. The pay difference between E-1 (enlisted) and E-3 is only like 3k a year or so.
