So, I play a game where I want to speedhack. A friend of mine speedhacks in the game with CE6.2 on Vista. All he does is enable the speedhack box, and it works. However, me and every single other person we've had try and do it has failed. It just won't work.

I downgraded to Vista from W7 to try and get it to work, and it still won't.

Can anyone explain why this is the case?

Have you set a speed to something else than 1?
If you speed up, can your system handle the speed?
Have you targeted the correct process? (E.g. in browser games, it is almost never the browser process)
Perhaps everyone you tried with have a protection installed that block dll injection

I use CE fine in every other game. It's not a browser game, and I did change the speed to what he uses.

Neither of us have Windows Firewall or an an Antivirus

No idea. Is it a java game ?
If so, redownload ce in case you downloaded ce 6.2 the first day it was released (fixes a problem with 64-bit)

And did he use 32-bit vista or 64-bit ?

I tried months ago wth 6.1 and a fresh install of 6.2 today.
The game is on the Unreal3 engine. Pretty sure he uses 64bit.

run your game in windowed mode (usually alt+enter in unreal engine 3 games)

And besides that, lower your graphics settings. Perhaps your cpu/graphics card just can't handle the speed.

Playing in windowed with minimal settings, still doesn't work. This is so weird, my CPU is good (3.2ghz i5) and my GPU is a 6950.
Don't get why it doesn't work. Oh well.

In my opinion Avast is too good..

Try slowing the game down to half or quarter speed. If you notice a change in speed when slowing but not when speeding it up, your CPU can't handle the speed increase for that particular game.

Also, nvidia has profiles for specific games, perhaps it has set a frame limiter/vsync there instead of the game itself

Vsync off in Catalyst Control Center, and .5 speed has no affect what so ever.
Even weirder, I can change my ammo and everything else graphically, so I know I'm hooked in correctly.
