And clicked 'yes' on on this chick for wanting to meet. Anyway, this morning I got an automated message saying that she was interested too. This allowed me to read her profile, where her 'About me' said 'Sorry but I'm actually younger than 18'...
- Block user
- Delete message
- Change settings to women between 20~30 (instead of 18~30)
- Hide from internet police

You should try jack'd and grindr. I have a friend who has a lot of success with those. In fact he's having an orgy later this week. And I'm not even making this up
Also don't these apps usually have pictures and also I thought the typical 'workflow' is to chat first then arrange meetup

I'll try those then. Although I thought Grindr was a gay version, and that's not really my thing. Mate of mine uses Grindr.
Badoo works with a system where you indeed have a picture of someone and you can chat them up. There is also a thing called the 'meeting-game' (roughly translated), where you see a picture(s) of someone with their age and a short summary of their interests. You can select 'Yes', 'No', or 'Maybe' on wanting to meet them. The other person plays the same game, sees you, and does the same thing. If you both select 'Yes' or 'Maybe', then you have a match and a chat is automatically opened. At this point you can view their entire profile via the chat window (has a button with 'profile' at the top).

From the picture alone I had no idea, and I didn't even start a chat aside from the automated message that was sent to her, saying I wanted to meet. I always check the profile and picture first to know which way I'm supposed to lead the conversation.
