So I went in and got a recruitment sergeant today. Basically I'm going in as an E2 with 20+ credit hours from college. I am opting for the Para Rescue (PJ) position.

It's 80% wash out rate, but if I score high enough I should be fine since I already meet the physical requirements. I may go out of my way and begin training for the Iron Man qualification so I can have a much higher success rate in the PJ washout. Plus I get an award and several nominations from it if I succeed with my physical times.

Also if I complete a pre-determined PJ basic I get a $14,000 bonus after my basic training.

Did you say you were looking to do intelligence or what? Because the basic training is rolling and every other week they send out another load of enlistees.

Damn terrorist, it's all their fault! They started a war with America and it's time to show those fuckers that we're the best country in the fuckin' world!

Also, we demand that you convert to a democracy, it's far superior than whatever system you currently have. And don't forget to allow us to capitalize off of your pain & suffering, here's a coke and a cheeseburger to make up for it.

Joining the military as a full time job is a really smart option. As far as I'm aware, you won't get fired just because of the recession.

Being (dis)honourably discharged is completely different.

I'd much rather go for an extremely stable job market. The only way it'll fail is if the government collapses.

America's such a great country that their amazing government will never collapse and if it's even on the verge of collapsing they'll just enforce martial law and people such as the OP will come through and clean up the "mess".

You can't be fired, basically your term ends. You can although just simply sign for another 4 - 6 years.

The pay isn't great by standard, but the bonus' are what really help out. Simply by getting into the PJ program and completing it they pay me $79k

Heading to the gym now tho. Derrick you'd best fucking inform me of what your plan is as of now.
