Cheat Engine

Im new here and have followed tutorials on how to use the Cheat Engine. However every time I save my cheat table for later use I must always do the whole process all over again.

I thought Pointers would help remove the need so I did it and it worked, the pointer tutorial that is, so to try it out I exited the game and loaded the table.
Now all my values show: ??

I don't know what else to do, I don't want to do everything all over again.

Man. i have the same problem, but my pointer onnly changes the last 4 digits, what about yours?

No idea right now, I just know that I can find pointers now and they work for the intended target(skill points or health or gold, etc).

When you make a Cheat Table and its working as you want but you have to exit the game, how do you make it so the cheats still work when you open the game again and after selecting the game again all values show ?? symbols?

Is it supposed to quickly pick up the values? Do I need to update every address field manually?

the pointer changes when ever the game is closed or starts
one of cheat engine tutorials steps shows you how to get
the real pointer

it's like a pointer to another pointer

try finding what access this pointer and search for it

* using pointer scanner it's easy, fast and of course you don't get any troubles like: the pointer path doesn't always point to your address Smile

You need to find the static bases with multi-level pointers. If you dont find the base it isnt worth saving.

Start off by finding your value-

Now right click that adress and find out what writes to that address.

Then click on that adress and click more info(In the middle there will be a hex value >>It states next to it this is most likely your next value) In the [] is your off set number.

Now click new scan put a check in box that says hex

Type in the hex value from the more info screen

Once you find the adress click add adress manually

Click pointer and add the address you just found in search and the Offset[] from the more info screen.

if you did it correctly you will have the same value as the previously found adress.

Now you right click that address and click Find what acesses this address.

Click what it finds and click more info Again >New search the next hex value, write down the offset.

Once you find the address add adress manually click pointer this time you go down 2 pointer rows enter the new adress and the off set from more info and the offset for the previous pointer in the prevois slot.

Rinse and repeat till you get to the GREEN Static adress If you constructed your pointer tree correctly and didnt mess up any offsets, the value will match (Thats the code you want to save) Now reastart your game and bam you can load a working table.

Also its fun to try to find the increase decrease incrementers adresses once you find the base and go in the assembler and mess with thier functions get things like (no reload, super jump, health goes up on hit yatta yatta)
