put your projects on github or googlecode and the like. then create a readme and/or wiki (you should be able to do this directly through the service)

Not so much just that, just my random thoughts and ideas in addition to program updates

And I would, but the few times I've posted source, I've gotten my ass chewed out by you. Not that that's a bad thing, in fact my code is much cleaner because of it. It's just that any project I go into treating it as a personal project is uncommented from the start and bits and pieces of ideas are here and there lol. I could probably clean up FG3D, but there's no way I'll ever clean FractalGen or FractalMuse up. I need to redo them the right way sooner or later.

doesn't matter about your old projects. although you can gain a lot out of learning how to refactor well, it is perhaps not so rewarding to you at such an early stage. just make sure the future projects you start are commented properly, and at least have appropriate unit tests. learning to write code that is testable is not only a good skill to have but essential in industry

i don't recall chewing your ass. if you want constructive criticism, people (such as me) are far more likely to review your code while it is still small-ish than when it becomes a behemoth of spaghetti code. i have no doubt if you put your code down for 3 months and went back to it you'd be like wtf too

I may have just seen it as you chewing my ass out. I remember you making some comments about me not knowing how to thread though for sure >.>

And yea, I've had huge wtf moments already. Also my old projects were done in Netbeans(dear god why did I ever do that) and I work in eclipse now, or a modified version of it when using JME3.

Even if I saw it as you chewing me out, I still took it as helpful criticism though. And there are times when I go (oh that's just too messy) or (I could definitely make a class to combine this and its related functions) or something similar. Back in my FractalGen days, I remember copypasting the same for loop about 6 times in different points of the program instead of just making it a function :/

Only things I'm unsure of is what to comment. and what naming conventions to use. As well as what exactly qualifies for making a new separate class.

you can learn all these things through people doing code reviews. but if you want to do it on your own (which you certainly should attempt first), the best way is to read through existing code such as an existing open source project. i would advise reading 'Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software' but i know you probably won't Wink

knowing how often/much to comment is a very tough balance that you'll only really learn after lots of experience. there are some interesting points to note regarding comments. for example: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2008/07/coding-without-comments.html

related is abstracting primitives to add readability in the code without comments:
http://codemonkeyism.com/never-never-never-use-string-in-java-or-at-least-less-often/

naming conventions tends to be quite standard actually. whether to make a new class often boils down to finding the delicate balance between decoupling and cohesion. again... code reviews from experienced devs could teach you this balance which you can not really learn other than through experience

Good to know you started to read about it after I told you about it.
Don't even lie and say I didn't.

I suppose if you enjoy doing it. It could eventually rise in popularity depending on the content. I wouldn't read it though: I never read blogs.

I had actually found it on Google when I was researching SpyEye.

Mad Anyways, Spyeye days are pretty much over. Not sure how much you know yet, but go to xakepy and find Citadel. It is the next big one. Price for the builder is over 2k. Also for my e-penis, I knew Xylitol somewhat personally before I knew about his blog. Met him on some small reversing forum where he was initially releasing his Spyeye cracks. He also posted a ton of other really cool shit aswell.

Nobody can read can they? I said for the few people who follow my programs as well as a place to store ideas for myself.

It's not like I plan on the blog getting popular or anything, it'd just be easier to keep everything there instead of constantly posting here.
