If the requirement is that it looks pretty and their definition of that is that it can display colours then yes

Fair play, but usually that isn't the case, which is why it's usually preference when it comes to colours and stuff.

No, I do, I'd just like to recommend better alternatives to people on the off chance that they'll listen and that they aren't getting that thing purely for aesthetics.

Because he isn't swimming in money and it doesn't make sense to me that he would like Alienware when he doesn't have it and can't afford it. It seems so much more logical to me when in his situation that you'd realise that the only difference is the logo and that is literally it, and since he can't afford it it makes more sense to make the exact same thing but for a lot less money. Also if you hadn't noticed I have a habit of badmouthing everyone on this forum, even if we're friends.

That's a silly way to think of it. Why would you do that? Why would you WANT to pay more when you can get literally the same thing, build it yourself or even get it built for you if you so wish, get any case of any shape/size you want etc etc for much less money?

Maybe he wants a laptop which you can't build yourself. Maybe he likes the funky lights that you can get on an Alienware computer. Maybe he likes the fucking name and wants to buy it because of that.
