I removed all the viruses and shit, but all the files (jpegs, music etc) have LOCKED in front of the name and all extensions changed to random 4 letters like .asdf, so the files look like :Picture1001.jpg.qwer
If i try to remove the additional extension the file obviously gets corrupt, any way to deal with this? |

first, why would the file become corrupt if you removed the extension? As long as you dont alter the actual contents of the file, nothing should happen. Extensions are really just for the operating system so it can know what programs to use to open what files. Second, if this is Windows 7, the locks might have something to do with permissions.

Why would it become corrupted? If the original file extension is '.jpg' and you remove 'qwer', then the file should be seen as an image again. Sounds like the file got corrupted by the virus, not just renamed.
