Is it just a load of hype? I'm the kind of person who can throw as much logic as I want at it as I want and I'll still feel uneasy. They're saying it spread to Florida and that's why the guy ate someone's face, not LSD. |

How exactly is this a "zombie disease" and since when does it make people want to eat other peoples faces.
It was PCP. |

By the way, I'm not saying I'm convinced or anything, it's just the idea that bugs me in the end. I've analyzed stupid end of the world theories before (2012, Fukushima nuclear reactor leftovers, etc) with ease, I just thought that this would be a nice topic and a great place for a bad joke. |

| Nodding disease or nodding syndrome is a recent, little-known disease which emerged in Sudan in the 1960s.[2] It is a fatal, mentally and physically disabling disease that only affects children, typically between the ages of 5 and 15. |

The disease is real, and patients resemble zombies to a scary degree. The patients growth comes to a halt, the brain pretty much dies out, and the person affected will start 'limping' around for food - any food. Parents have chained their children to prevent them from either eating something wrong, or walking off cliffs.
Perhaps the nodding disease is what gave the idea for a zombie story. It's been first diagnosed in the 1960's according to Wikipedia, so what all the fuss is about now I have no idea. It's a 52 year old disease. |

I never said it was that one, and even if it was, can't they mutate (or would that become a new virus)? Or was that directed at Augustine. Say this was this disease, though, it would still be a terrible, terrible thing, and could change the world for what I feel is the worse. By the way, Ani, it has apparently spread into Florida, but I'd be surprised if it hadn't a long time ago considering so many people come out of the listed red zones and visit foreign countries. :/ |

It would definitely be terrible. Although there are some reports of children recovering from this disease. Wouldn't it be the motherfucking shit if it turns out you recover from the disease, but everything is a god damn wasteland? The world would be yours, along with the other small group that survives.
I was discussing this with a friend a while ago. Everything around us is so nice and safe, but nothing would thrill me more than a global disaster (outer space, disease, volcanoes, storms, etc) happening, just to show what you're really worth. Because currently, no matter how well things are going, I feel trapped in this boring and even life. It's terrible to want this, but I want it nonetheless. I have a purpose, but not the sensation that I'm actually fighting for it. |

I have been wanting some cool as fuck natural disaster to occur which basically made the world like ZombieLand.
Only the strong survive, and get to do whatever the fuck they want. |

Are you saying you want this in the settings of the a ravaged Western civilization? Because if you're not, wouldn't it be easier to move to an impoverished region like an African village and do your work there-- I'm just interested, I can see what you probably mean. |

Every generation from our grandfathers and before has had to fight to survive. It's in our genes to fight, yet we're in a world that you'd only truly appreciate had you experienced the flipside. At least for me this is true, by no means did I mean to generalize this.

Western. It's my world I want to stay in, and fight for. If I were to move to an area such as Africa the entire environment would be different. I'd want to survive in my own surroundings after something horrible struck. |
