| Yeah they're kinda shit. In HMV you can test the headphones before you buy them and they were some of the most shit headphones there.

There're just so much more headphones that are so much better at the same price to justify buying beats for any reason besides being a tool.

I'll be perfectly honest, I absolutely cannot tell the difference between a $50 pair of skullcandys and an expensive pair of beats. Nor can I tell the difference between a "high quality" audio file and an mp3.

I'm at 5/5 on the mp3ornot.com site.

I'm at 5/5 on the mp3ornot.com site. | I tried it a few times and I got like 70% right. But I'm really only guessing, they sound identical to me.

I can differentiate mp3 from flac, audiophile master race.
But yes, beats are just overpriced skullcandies with a brushed metal finish (sound like apple much?), you can get the same/better quality for less.
inb4 slugsnack shits all over this thread and claims beats are better because they cost more

They're not bad at all, they're just not worth $300.
For that amount of money, you could have gotten much better headphones. For example, AKG K701s, which are twenty times better, no exaggeration whatsoever.
Additionally, the bass is obnoxiously boosted. Fine for listening to rock or alternative if you're more of a fan of the bass guitar, but anything electronic just sounds terrible.

| I don't see why people feel the need to spend so much on head phones (it's probably for social status). I've had some Skullcandy Titan's for about 2 years and they are fine, plus I can put them away easily
