I overwhelmed myself a bit with throughout my final exams. Luckily, the IB English exam was made to have little dependence on knowing every last detail of the assigned novels. We were basically asked to write an essay on the very last 3 novels of the IB curriculum. Having slacked off quite a bit as the exams drew near, I had barely even lifted these 3 novels. I did however listen attentively during class lectures on these novels, so I was prepared to the slightest extent. Incredibly irresponsible of me, but a couple hours before my English exam, I watched a few Youtube videos on the plots (and the slightest analysis) and a bit of SparkNotes of each novel.
When the exam began, I looked over the selection of essay questions that we were given. We were allowed to choose any one to write about. I chose,
In what ways is the literature you have studied concerned with gaining, maintaining, or losing a paradise of some kind?
So I chose the most basic events that I could remember from the novels and expanded it with the very basics of philosophy (ie "I believe Mr.X did this because...")
tldr, I winged a senior level exam and left feeling pretty confident about it.
Also, if you haven't completed secondary school yet, be sure to, at the very least, take some sort of AP program in English. It will end up being alright with minimal effort (minimal effort not recommended) and also looks good on you.

| Feeling like you did well on a test? Always a good indication you probably did bad.

That's what my dad always says. He has "safety factor" thing, where:
(What I believe I scored) - (25%) = (How I really did)
Indicating that I should always expect to have done poorly lol.

Okay, okay:
(What I believe I scored) - (25%) = (How I really did)
where (How I really did) ≥ 0
