I was outside playing catch with him (he was loose) and then I went to work on something for a couple minutes and had to go inside and grab something. My mom was outside, and a girl was walking up the street to her house ( I live on a dead end). He did break skin, but it was nothing too serious. The mother came over and ask to see his rabies papers, she was very nice about the whole situation, but she said her husband wouldn't be as kind about it. What will happen, do you think he'll have to get put down? Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm kind of freaking out.

but you are legally liable because it was loose
but hopefully they will be nice enough to let it go

Just hope that he is reasonable, always be kind, polite, etc etc
if they say they're gonna press charges explain to him how important that your dog is to you, and how it's like if you took away their child

My neighbors recently had this problem, but they were offered to pay a big fine for their dog back, or it would be put down.
Obviously the trashy fucks didn't pay the fine. Oh and their dog attacked a kid, but the mother picked up her kid and the dog pit her instead. She had to get stitches.
But yeah, even though my dog is a baby we're cautious about that stuff. When he goes outside he's either behind a fence or tied up. Animals are unpredictable (almost as much as humans), you should have been more responsible :/
