What do standards have to do with the quality of the streams you're gonna watch/listen. Are you saying that everyone is watching high res movies?

HD streams are inferior to 1080p quality videos
also not everyone has the bandwidth to stream in 1080p (which there is VERY little 1080p streams), but they can download 1080p videos in parts

also 4k is the future and you're not ready for it if you stream

as far as i know, there's no reason a 1080p video can't be streamed with no loss of quality. the problem is that in streaming, videos need to be significantly lower in size and quality so that the streaming itself doesn't stress the server or the client, and so that the user can actually watch the video in reasonable time.

yeah so streams will always be in lower quality
I dont know why people defend streaming or using VLC, when its not a matter of opinion , but proof that they are shit unless in very specific situations
