So basically I built this entire rig. I keep getting suck at a ASRock set up utility thing. I have no option to boot from CD from what I can tell. Also I was told that my previous HD would possibly still work without issue.
Any ideas?

| When you boot there should be a message displaying what button you should hit to enter BIOS. Usually delete.

I'll try that out. I was told that f11 should boot the list to access boot from cd, the issue is that when I do that I just end up on a stall screen and nothing happens. I should be installing the mobo first obviously but I can't.

| What all do you have hooked up? You should have the CPU, RAM, GPU, HDD, and CD drive hooked up. Make sure your SATA connections are correct as well, you want to top SATA ports as they'll be the 6 GB/s running off the CPU. If you can't get anywhere doing the boot menu, go into BIOS and change boot priority to CD/DVD drive.

I'll try out the other SATA ports. I have everything hooked up at the moment. And yeah, I can't access the BIOS >.>
EDIT: OK APO THANK YOU. PROGRESS.
I had my sata hooked up to 2/6 as opposed to 1/6.
I rebooted and got to the windows XP loading screen. It goes to uhhh the xp loading screen the blue screens immediately after. I'm assuming this is because nothing is installed. I now need to get to the point at which I can install shit.... fffs

That's fine. Also I figured out the issue.
The SATA cable that came in the case is dead. I tried mixing up the sata's between my dvd drive and my HDD and it works, but I only have one other cable. So tomorrow I gotta run out and buy a new cable and I should have no more issues.
Fucking case.

| Your case came with a SATA? Your mobo should have come with like.. 4. That's pretty much the standard even on value boards. Usually 2 right angle and 2 straight.
