She was put down, had cancer, arthritis. Not a baw thread. But I'm sad. Just sharing. Her paw was swollen, she was blind, she couldn't even eat with out putting food right in front of her. It was getting to the point where I was questioning my mom about her even being alive still. Well she was finally put down and she's in peace now. Getting her ashes on monday. The vet said she could have lived longer if she had her leg removed but it would just be a sad site. She was 18, she'd only live another 4 months tops. My mom is crying and sad etc because the cat could have lived longer, she feels she made the wrong choice, she's going as far as saying; "I murdered my cat". Any ideas on how I can cheer her up? I've already tried talking some logic/common sense into her. Didn't work. I'm headed over to my moms tomorrow for a few hours and I want to make her feel content with the outcome. I know she misses the cat, I know when you lose a constant thats been in your life for 18 years, it hurts. But it really was the cats time like 6 months ago and the past 6 months have been a complete struggle for the cat. I feel so fucking sad. I feel fucking horrible for my mom, and the way she thinks. Please, some opinions?

Nothing to do but let it happen. The best idea is just to leave her in peace for now to work things out herself.

Once my cat was sick and I took her to the emergency vet, left her there overnight, turns out they put her down, didn't even ask or notify me.
I was so fucking pissed, she was a sweetheart.

Also sam, he was suddenly paralyzed and couldn't move his back legs, so he was pulling himself around everywhere.

My cat Rune (Rune stone, she was black like a witch's cat) and my dog Durger (Named after a backing singer from Pink Floyd called Durger McBrune) both had cancer.

My dog was 15 my cat was 17. They were both exactly a year older than me give or take a few days. Razz
