Ok so based on what we want to do, we've broken it down to either
Chingu - Ruby
LOVE2D - Lua
AGen - Lua

If anybody has any experience with one of them or has a better idea, advice would be appreciated.

Ruby > Lua

LUA is a simpler language than Ruby. Ruby has more expressive syntax though.

Chingu has the most extensive API out of the three, which is why I was thinking about going that route, but I just know from common knowledge that Lua is used much more often in games. I'm split.
