So as some of you may know, I have been playing World of Warcraft quite actively. Well tonight, for the first time ever, I had a dream with a lot of elements from WoW in it. I was on the rooftop of my house, when suddenly a flying ship (The Skyfire from DS raid) started floating by. My house was under attack, and this nerdy guy and myself boarded the ship to blow it up.
On board was a big guy (which resembled that Blackthorn boss, except he was definitely human, bald, huge, and held a mace.) Apparently I had to find three things on the ship, so the nerdy guy could assemble them and blow the ship up. I can only remember I had to collect gunpowder and a big ass cogwheel, all the while fending off the big guy. After an awesome battle I was finally able to collect it all, and the nerdy guy was able to assemble them, and together we blew up the ship, and we landed back safely on the rooftop of my house. Awesome right?
Here is where it gets completely and unexpectedly fucked up: the nerdy guy suddenly turns into my little brother, all the while still ecstatic over our victory, we walk down from the second floor to the ground floor. Upon reaching the final flight of stairs, I notice a lifeless body hanging next to us: it's my dad. He apparently hung himself. At this point I completely flip the fuck out, and tell my brother to call an ambulance. I cut him loose, and start bawling my eyes out all the while. Fortunately he starts to regain consciousness. Except he isn't happy at all with the turn of events. He starts complaining and blaming me about how he now has brain damage, and has to go through life like that. It's at this point that I wake up.
I figured I'd share this with you all, as I noticed a dream post a while back doing the same. It's not as fucked up, but still pretty horrible imo.

I wish I'd remember more of my dreams. They're always really interesting to recall.

I'm keeping a journal at the moment. This was the first one I recorded. Otherwise I would have forgotten it already.

For the first time in my life, I had a dream about my own and my family's mortality. I woke up depressed and now my day is shit. I was in some 40 year war with my friends and came back to everyone being old.
It had started out as a happy dream where I was with my friends, just hanging out... ;_;

I tried keeping a journal at one point, and it worked at first because I had a really vivid dream at about that time and remembered 90% of the details and was able to document them, but after that I didn't remember any dreams for like, a week, and when I finally did, it was only very small part with hardly any details so I gave up. I still remember some dreams from time to time, but haven't really thought about keeping a journal again. I might though.

I'm doing it to get into lucid dreaming. I tried to jump straight into lucid dreaming, but failed a couple of nights in a row. This is a step in preparation for it. I know I can do it. As a child I suffered from sleep paralysis a lot, which strongly indicates that at some point I was able to disconnect my conscious mind from the unconscious state I was in.

my first lucid dream was actually some time after I stopped journaling my dreams. I don't think that was exactly relevant, but it was pretty weird since it started out as a nightmare and I eventually started gaining control over my dream until I woke up. It wasn't as great as I thought it would be, but it was still interesting.
