you uploading a script, or a script that lets people upload

my script lets people upload files
I want to read the file's mime type and check it against a whitelist (instead of using file extension because I think mime is safer and prevents broken files)
if it's ok then proceed with upload, sending the mime type to the database and storing it in that file's entry
