I'm still working hard on the architecture of the application, I only started yesterday. In short my plan is to cache the file/folder structure in chunks, for it to allow new files/folders to be added quickly. The 'recaching' will only happen when something new is added (will probably use 'date modified' to check for new file/folders), and will only update the chunk which is supposed to hold it.
I'll probably use several serialized arrays, each responsible for an alphabetic letter, holding an image object belong to the tag in question. This will allow for tag search to work fast, I hope. Partial searches could be done as well, as long as I use a selection or heap sort, I guess. I cross that point once I get there. |
Sounds like distributed architecture. Something similar to mapreduce or hadoop. |
