Imagine all the controls being configurable, even with a keyboard and mouse it would be playable.

Then I don't understand why he's assuming this things.
Besides, I've played plenty of 3rd person games on the PC like that with my keyboard and mouse and didn't have much to complain about. Besides, a lot of people like to have a lot of hotkeys and stuff.

They could easily remake the controls to work on a pc keyboard/mouse. I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Also, buy a fucking xbox controller and connect it to pc.
