hey i was wondering what a good barebones laptop would be. i want to build my own and i have about 1 grand to do it with so i thought i could get a starter laptop and build it into a gaming machine or at least something decent

Uh honestly you don't want to do that, unless it's just for kicks and you have money to blow, because self-built laptops rarely work as intended and are a bitch to work on, mostly because of the cramped case and parts.
If there's ever a time to go prebuilt, it's with laptops (and maybe servers).

You can use Corona or Live Code which are available for Windows but at some point you will need a Mac to publish your app with the App Store. If you have an iPad you can try the Codify app which uses the Lua scripting language, as does Corona, to
