Are you that stupid? I've been frequent on many legitimate, out-standing websites that have been infected somehow-- a bad ad, or even a complete hijacking. And then there's the users that use Google, which has sources that can't be trusted sometimes. Maybe if someone only frequented a few websites, then sure, but for the average user you're going to need something in the line of defense.

Ads shouldn't even be an issue if you have faggot and a popup blocker.
Google doesn't have "sources". It will index every website it can possibly index if the domain owner doesn't request them not to.
Again, this goes back to what I have said, if you only click only sites you trust, then you shouldn't even worry.

- It was just an example, and there are adproviders that certain programs can't block (not mainstream) and you failed to provide an excuse for a hijacking or other issues
- Almost every link on Google is a source in some way
