Cheat Engine

Okay so i've been battling with this issue for awhile now. I'm trying to hack Dungeon Defenders atm and i haven't been able to open the process needed in Cheat Engine 6.1. Here's what happens:
I launch DD. Then I open Cheat engine 6.1, running as admin. Then I go to the flashing icon and select "DunDefGame.exe". I click open and CE freezes and if I keep clicking nothing will happen. After this windows tells me that CE is not responding and i have to use task manager to close it. I tried waiting for awhile and it stayed frozen for as long as 15 min, after which i closed it again. Any suggestions of what might cause the problem? Thanks in advance.
I'm using windows 7 64bit

Well if you try to use it when you are playing online with the game, that could explain the issue.

What happens if you try to attach it to other processes?

Nope, Dungeon Defenders is completely hackable in it's current version with Cheat Engine 6.1. I even took out the Ethernet cable to see if that was the cause. I've had that issue with chrome.exe too but not with any else. This is really weird, since I haven't found any solution for this, and no one else has even reported this Surprised

Check your anti virus and firewall(s)

(Uninstall them and reboot your system is the only way to be sure it's not them)

Thanks Dark Byte for answering. Ok I did remove avast! and rebooted to no avail. Then I disabled windows firewall and rebooted yet again > didn't help. I'm really running out of options.
