And how's it's performance with your processor. How do you think it'd do with a 6 core 3.2ghz amd phenom black edition.

I currently have a 4850 and a dual core @ 2.7ghz. Probably getting the proc and one of the graphics cards for christmas. Trying to figure out what my new rig will be like approximately.

Get 4 cores and anything over 3.6ghz. Will outperform #fact.

Overclock to 4.2+ = win.

Ignoring this troll right here, I have a Phenom II x4 925 and a 6850 power edition OC'd @ 925/1100mhz. I run BF3 on ultra with 50 - 100 frames, but Vsync makes my frame rate dip to 30 - 40, and im told the last patch caused that.

My next move is a new 8 core FX series processor, just because I can, but my cpu and gpu together seem to play anything maxed right now.

You would have serious bottleneck on new games if you get a new gpu and still use a dual core.

Ok, first, no, you are an idiot, and I do not feed the trolls. Second, new 8 cores slowest is like, 3.3ghz, so GG. Clock speed does not detail performance.

Look into an FX series core if you want to go amd. The FX series are all considered black edition and are not locked.

But you would probably need a new mobo and ram if you have less than ddr3.

Gg dumbass, pointed out a fact I already pointed out. wo wo wo.

Kaze, you'll get better results with fraps with 4 cores over 4ghz than with 6 cores and 3.2.

Not like clock rate is everything. P.s. I'm taking bf3 as a reference.

Yea, recently upgraded my mobo on the cheap to this http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=A770DE%2B
along with a new case and psu

Budget gamer, these christmas presents will probably be my only upgrades till later 2012

Really because the new 8 cores out bench the old quad cores. You are an idiot. Gaming and benchmarks are different. Games wont use any more resource than programmed you ignorant moron.

GG faggot. We all know how those 8 cores are outperformed by tons of quad cores. You're just judging cores and clock rather than efficiency.

You do know that not all tasks can be divided into many cores? Hence making clocks over 3.6 important

But ofcourse, you're SOOOO SMART.
He wants it to play games, the more you post the more your rot your self.

Kazekeil: You'll make better use of a cpu this way than a focusing on the cores it self. Cores matter tho.

And you won't see a major performance difference when you jump from 4 to 6 or even 8.
You will get major performance

Ofcourse, clock it self isn't made to compare to other processors (kinda).

Also, I suppose you're refferring to buying this:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7023169&CatId=4432

When this outperforms it when overclocked just a bit for the same price.
