Not sure if this is the right section.
But, I have recently been given an old Xbox 360 arcade
the first ones released as it only works for half an hour before it over heats and you have to take the whole thing apart to let it overheat again and then is works. It's been to Microsoft once and had a second sync put into it, but it does shit all. It doesnt even have a HDMI output.
I am trying to get it to run normally - for a cheap as possible.
I have looked into ways of cooling it, the most cost effective i've come across has to be This although i have not tried it out yet. would it be better to re-house the hardware?
Just wanted to get a general opinion, or see if anyone's got any experience they can shair with me on the subject before I begin.
Thank you
Missi0n

| There are side-fans for around $15 or so at Walmart/Best Buy that could help.

there's no dust on the inside, it's been cleaned but is still over heating. I looked at replacing the inner fan but it didnt seem worth it seeing as it would be almost the same as no more fans will be added.
Adding two more fans must help.

| Its an old arcade so its possibly an xclamp issue. If its not clamping properly to move the heat. I know my 360 is a refurbished arcade and it gets hot as hell but never rings or anything. If its not getting rrod then its fine. Just because microsoft put a new sync on it doesnt mean they did it properly. I mean, its microsoft.

the xbox will suddenly red ring after about half an hour, it then has to be taken apart and the fan taken out until it stops, it can then be re-assembled and will work for another half an hour.
EDIT:
The xclamps have been modified so that they work properly, it's still getting too hot though
