|
Cook ramen noodles in microwave, 3 mins. Make sure you leave intact.
Strain, run over with cool water to remove starch, set aside.
Saute onions, celery and bell pepper(if you have it) until brown around the edges.
Add in minced garlic to preference, let brown
Dump out into plate for later
Cook 2 eggs in leftover onion/garlic butter
Dump into plate with veggies
Add a small pad of butter into pot/pan, add noodles
Saute noodles for a bit with the butter and a good bit of teryaki, as well as a shot of soy
Once there's no liquid left(evaporated/on noodles) add eggs and veggies back.
Finish with red pepper flake and lemon pepper
I use just the grocery store ramen. Made by Manchuro or something to that effect. Normally comes with a seasoning packet. Just toss that.

If you could taste it you'd understand. Plus, I like to cook. Before I got into programming, I was thinking of going to school for culinary arts. |
you are trying to be fancy by adding spices when theyre already in the flavoring making it overly strong. using the microwave instead of stove AND then running cold water over it makes it even worse. cooking it on the stove top then adding the egg while it begins to cool makes the egg compliment the ramen more than instead of being 2 different things.

I said throw the spice packet away.
If you don't run water over the noodles, the entire thing is sticky as hell.
EDIT: Adding pepper makes me fancy?

yeah, by throwing away the packet and then adding the same exact flavors (buy the taryaki flavor derp) is trying to be fancy.
sticky is good brah, but thats only opinion, the rest isn't.

Wait wait wait...
Is the ramen you get like a soup, or more like what I made? My family's grown up making it like a soup and crushing the noodles, never knew why.
They don't sell a teryaki flavor here. Believe me, I've looked. I didn't even know they had one until you just said it, we normally just get beef.
Also, none of this was done in an effort to be fancy. It was done in an effort to be made almost entirely from scratch, minus noodles of course. It is not something I'd make errday of my life, but If I have free time and the kitchen to myself, and want something that taste amazing for dinner besides bland old 89cent ramen, I'll make it.
Still don't get why you're making a fuss over this. I never said you HAD to cook it my way.

theres no point in making it from scratch if you dont make the noodles, because they are the main point
if this was iron chef id give you a 3/10 for flavor 6/10 for originality and 3/10 for texture.
making a fuss because free time.
