So the evil dragon, "Grey Scale" has shattered the magical prism hid each of the pieces in the 7 lands, each of whom has a theme of each of the 7 colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet), thus wiping the color from the land. The hero's quest is to find each shard, and put them back together and restore color to the world. Then, he has to defeat Grey Scale. The game will be set in a surrealist world. Etc. etc., basically.

Does the colours represent anything in forms of gameplay?

I think that'd be cool, have a grayscale game with colors added in after each level.

Precisely.

@Holland

I don't know, I haven't thought about it yet. Any ideas?

I was thinking C#, because that's what I'm doing CEF City in. However, doing it in one of those two would be interesting. Which is easier?

Depends on what you're doing really.
Is this game gonna have 3d in it?
If so java will be terribly inefficient (see minecraft) and flash will be pretty limited.
I can't say that either is better than the other but they do have their proficiencies.

No, more like scrolling pokemon style pixel art. I was thinking of just modifying my engine from CEF City, but it might be interesting to try and start from scratch.

CEF City is a pixel art project that I'm working on. This wouldn't exactly be a programming project if I used RPG maker, nor would it be very original, now would it? I was also thinking that adding point and click adventure elemnts would be cool.

Flash does point and click best, but java might do more stable level creation and paths and stuff I dunno I'm better at flash.
