| If you check out http://www.slashthree.com, I'm just wondering exactly what they used to make the site work how it does. Anyone?

| It's basic HTML and some Javascript. How they make the site work? Idk, go ask for their backend.

xTremist is right, they use jQuery, and I'm guessing Zend Framework as the backend judging from the URL syntax, but the latter is uncertain. Effects you're seeing are also from jQuery, although they are defined in a seperate JS file.
jQuery uses very simple functions to add effects. For example:
| Code: | // Checks if the page is finished loading
$(document).ready(function() {
// Slowly fades in all elements with id 'element1'
$("#element1").fadeIn("slow");
// Quickly fades out all elements with class 'element2'
$(".element2").fadeOut("fast");
}); |
That's it for a crash course jQuery effects. As you can see the way you identify elements is similar to defining them in a CSS file. Here is a list of effects possible with jQuery: http://api.jquery.com/category/effects/
