Eh? 12PM isn't "night" - 12PM is the start of the afternoon, coming right after 11:59AM.

But that's not what he's talking about

12PM is noon
12AM is midnight
11:59 AM is a minute before noon
11:59 PM is a minute before midnight

Though if you say 2 at night, as in 2pm, I do think that really weird. Seeing as the sun will still be out for several hours.
