How does Cheat Engine and Trainer Maker Kit create their trainer executables?

Cheat Engines old method was to create a dummy executable that had a framework prepared to load an overlay file appended to the end of the executable and create a dynamic GUI during runtime. (This was from 5.6, I can't say for 6.x as I haven't looked into it.)

As for TMK, no idea, but I'd assume its probably something similar.
