Oh gosh >_<
i never screamed or had any of those absurd reactions you'd see on youtube, but there were parts of this game that had me on the edge and with my hand on the escape key.
Example: The flooded hallways x_x

That's because the game is designed to bring out real fear. Things come out when you least expect them. A well lit room can go dark with a gust of wind. You can be forced to run for your life in a split second. And when there's nowhere to run, you have to hide in closets or dark corners and hope that the enemy doesn't see you.
Stay too long in the dark, and you go insane. Your vision blurs, your walking slows down, you start getting more sluggish, and you start to see things in the shadows or the foggy areas.
And what's makes this even worse is that theres no way to fight back. It's either run or be caught. And if you stare at the enemy, you go insane and eventually die.
To mindfuck you some more, the game's atmosphere is designed to make you think that you're being followed or that there's something on the other side of a door, when in truth there might be nothing but your next objective. In other words, its a game where you often cant trust the sensory information that you experience.
I know it's just a game, but this is definitely one that has a strong scare factor o.o

sounds even better now. i think i need to download this game. it's just the people i was watching seemed to exaggerate their fear like all those video responses to 2girls1cup
