Yeah, 5 billion years is a long wait. We're not dead yet, though. Maybe within the next 50 years Scientists will mass-produce a product that causes immortality.

If it has not already been invented. Overpopulating on a planet (or a universe which no longer expands), and halting genetic process seems like a terrible idea.

According to my biology teacher we'll be dead in about 1000 years due to the overpopulation that we are creating; Thus making the food supply scarce and resulting in starving ourselves.

I'm not good with this, but I thought what is changing is the density or something. I could be very, very wrong though (I'm terrible with this, and was informed by someone who is consumed by this, and matter/anti-matter research). He's also the one who told me about the sun going pure white when it runs out of fuel. Although he was pretty confident that before that happens, humans will find a way to create a new sun/inject it with more fuel.
