I don't want to spend a whole ton of money but I do want to have a decent comp.
Here are some things I picked but I could change them.
1tb hitachi hdd
2x2gb ddr3 ram
430 watt psu
My main concern is a motherboard. What should I get?
Also should I wait for the bulldozer cpu from amd? Or Ivy Bridge?

options are stupid
intel and nvidia are for those who want top tier items and have a large budget
amd and... amd-with-another-name is for building a powerful build with a stricter budget
you dont mix the 2...
though if your getting anything made within last 2 years, nvidia for sure. ati has been giving pretty much the same price for somewhat lower specs generally

Since when are you the expert on computers? Since when don't you mix Intel with AMD and AMD with Nvidia? Since never. You just fucking made that up in your head.

Nvidia isn't better than AMD. The AMD 6970 is a damn good card for the price. You can pay $500 for the Nvidia 580, but the price isn't worth the performance increase. You may say that Nvidia is bought by people who want top-tier, but in all reality, Nvidia is just a waste of money. You pay $350 for your average 6970 and $500 for the average 580. You pay an extra $150 for 2-5 extra FPS. And for the price of 2 580s you can get near 3 6970s which will outperform 3 580s. The 6970 has some of the best scaling around in graphic cards. Your best bet is to go with the 6970 in terms of performance and save for a second to crossfire.

... the 570 is slightly (not much granted, but a bit...) better then the 6970, and 570 is 30 dollars cheaper then it too last i checked
i agree with you 580 was a waste. nvidia jsut offered 580 for bragging rights pretty much....

No... the 570 lost in just about every benchmark against the 6970 if not all.

one i looked at had the 570 a few points higher then 6970 for most tests... ima go see what i can find
also the 59xx is invalid, its a completely different tier ._.
