what the balls. every time i play a video, withing 10 minutes, ubuntu locks up and dies
google offers no help

If not, try re-installing, if you haven't got the codecs yet, that could be the problem too, so get them from synptec or w/e it's called on Ubuntu

videos run fine so not codecs derp
also, how 2 create root account. everthing ive found fails

There are ways around it not letting you login as root, and there is a reason you shouldn't login as root. If you really look you can find it.

its the same as doing something like "C:/Program Files/Something/SomeProgram.exe" in the windows comand prompt. Unless you use sudo or are root.
