Get a SpinPoint F3 instead of a Hitachi: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181

Get this processor instead of the one you selected: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103921

If you're gonna go for an aftermarket cooler, get the Hyper 212+ : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065

any reason why on the SP F3 its a little more and its pretty much the same?
Also I would choose Flash over Disk

Also to op I dont know if it matters to you
but Intel's usually run more efficiently (conserve less power) and run cooler
then AMD's

I tend to go towards AMD when building budget.

Also, why exactly should I go with the hard drive suggested? Just curious; $10 isn't much, but I'd like to know.

Because going Intel = paying at least $100 more for the same performance.

@Waly, Spinpoint F3s are well accepted as the fastest 7200RPM hard drives. Any faster and you're an SAS or SSD.

Oh, alright, and thank you. I actually ended up taking all three of your suggestions.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119228&cm_re=cooler_master_centurion_5_ii-_-11-119-228-_-Product

superior case within same price range, well 10 bucks more.

Not as hard to put on as people say, and its a beast.

wipe the shit off that it comes with and use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007

My Phenom had the crappy paste on the cpu, but it may be on the heatsink for you, you need this either way.

Also do not get the athlon cpu. The phenom II x4 at 2.8 will out put it in gaming. You have an asus board so im sure it will have nice OC options. Buy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103656&cm_re=Phenom_Ii_x4-_-19-103-656-_-Product
The prices recently dropped. This should easily out do the athlon Ii x4 at 3.1ghz. If you go with the cooler master hyper 212+ it cuts off 20 bucks from your total and it can be re applied to the cpu.

The Hyper 212 is hard as fuck to put on are you insane? I put one on the other day for my friend's comp.

One thing, OP, make sure the HSF is the LAST THING you put on. As in get all the power cables there first as well. That was one mistake I made.

Also, if you look at the processor I suggested, it's better and cheaper.

Because it costs a shit ton more and is made very poorly and you do not get the satisfaction of building it yourself and it's easy as fuck to build one yourself.
