So I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, but for the past 2 days that I've had it, I encounter constant d/c's after 5 minutes, seriously.
My Vista never did this, what could be affecting this? I can't play any games or manage a regular conversation online anymore.

Probably all. Was your Vista install 64-bit? Is your Windows 7 install 64-bit?

I just went to my computer's site, ASUS, and downloaded a program that scanned my drivers and it said that it was all updated.
Yes, my Vista was 64-bit, but downloaded a 32-bit Windows 7 due to download issues, although it says 64-bit in my Computer properties.

Could be a remnant from upgrading from a 64-bit os to a 32-bit os. This is one reason upgrades aren't always a good idea. Best usually to do it from a clean install.
Download current drivers for your motherboard for your installed os. After you have them then proceed. In device manager, remove the nic drivers and the device. Shutdown Windows, not restart shutdown. Then start up Windows. Ignore it telling you it found hardware, or if it won't listen opt to install it yourself. Then reinstall the fresh drivers for the nic.

| You cant upgrade 64bit vista to 32bit windows 7. You had to have done a format or at least have it delete vista's files.

I know for sure I didn't do a format, so it must've deleted vista's files?
My friend said it was okay to upgrade using a 32 bit CD despite it being different, he said it just won't be as efficient or something.
@AhMunRa Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by my drivers for the motherboard and nic.

ASUS isn't listed, probably cause I'm searching up the wrong thing.

Click Start right click Computer select Properties. If System Type says 64 bit you have a 64 bit version installed.
Never trust drivers from 3rd party sites. Open the case write down the serial number of your motherboard. On ASUS site they should have a look up for the drivers you need.

I have a 64 bit, what are we trying to do?
I believe that all my drivers are already up to date?
I noticed several people telling me to turn off the Flow Control and Task Offload in the network adapter, haven't had much success yet.

Does your motherboard have the nVidia chipset? If so there is a firewall included that could be the cause. I've had issues with the firewall included with nVidia nic drivers before. Mostly conflicts with PunkBuster.

my suggestion for you is to install the network driver. Make should you know your model or manufact network. Once you installed; you'll have to restart your pc. If that doesn't do the trick; then you'll have to contact support.

It seems that I fixed the problem by turning off my wireless connection, could it be that it was interfering with it after the update? It was fine before, wired and wireless.
Now I can't use my Wi-Fi without disconnecting.
