I personally think it is a scam, a cult, and believe more of what I've read on the internet, due to things I have also read in news papers and magazines. The "religon" was supposedly started by L. Ron Hubbard, who was a fictional book writer and concieved the cult on, presumably, when writing another book. The cult says that Xenu is not part of it, and that everything anyone says is a lie. They'll take your money, and when you don't have anymore, they will take your life, if you have gotton to far into the cult; take the Lisa McPherson case for example--She had gotton into a car accident, and although not PHYSICALLY injurned, it had done something to her mind, so the Scientologists would not let her go to a real hospital, because it was against their beliefs, so they took her into a van and said they would bring her to a hospital with a scientologist on staff. When she got there, it was too late; she had been starved, and had chemicals injected into her body, according to the autopsy. I think Anonymous was fighting a just-cause, against them, and should KEEP fighting it.
So those are my views, what are yours?

Uh...
This topic is... sensitive to say so, both for scientologists and anti-scientologists. Some strong opinions will be posted I guess.
(My opinion is obviously negative about them. Very negative.)

Scientology is a modernized version of the moneymaking machine that is Catholicism.
In ye olden days the Catholic church harvested much money from believers and thus became successful.
Right now Scientology is in it's starting process where it gets a lot of money from a few rich people and money from a few other believers.
If it keeps going like this people will start viewing it as a 'normal' religion and it will spread more and more.
They will start wanting more and more money and in the end maybe a new Luther will arise and call bullshit.
TL;DR in 100 years there are old buildings labeled 'Church of Scientology' that people visit much like we visit old churches right now.

Probably not as scientology is against the law already in some countries. And others will follow this example. For a good reason.

I'm not sure about this, because it's unsupported by the following; People now aren't as easy to fool back then, some people don't even believe in god, so why would they wan't to believe in Alien ghosts and an evil ruler named Xenu? And Scientology is under too much fire from the world, and with the introduction of the internet into modern times, it'll make people know what's wrong with Scientology better then any scroll or parchment ever could. And lest we forget, Christianity and Catholicism were made by no known person, not a slightly known fiction writer. There is too many factors that have changed since the creation of the Catholic church.

Unfortunately most people are not as well informed about this as you think and the promise of belonging to a community is still a very strong desire for otherwise isolated people. As long as there are lonely souls in a society, there will be cults to suck them in with promises.

Personally, I feel any organized religion is wrong, but a person that choses to worship in their own way regardless the religion is right.

There's a fine line between a religon, and a cult.

Well you know when Christianity and shit like that started out the kings and emperors feared it because it spread the thought of individuality and equality to the people.

Yeah but scientology is still different and we are not in the age of kings and emperors already. The basics of scientology are to introduce sweet dictatorship to the masses. I have worked for a company where the leaders were scientologists. In that case, you will believe what they believe or just go away. Needless to say I left in a hurry. Bunch of idiots with all their brainwashing seminars.
Also if you know a few ex-scientologists, it isn't hard to decide that you don't want to become one of them.
Scientology is not a religion (regardless what they say) and it is potentially dangerous, that is why it is banned in many countries, not because it is spreading noble ideas (like love, peace and prosperity).

I know I was just posing it as an example because it was feared in the start as well.
If they use that money that they have gathered en masse to advertise their 'religion' and shush the people talking about what it's really about they might have a chance.

It is true that empires feared the "free" religions, but now it is kinda the opposite. Governments fear the slavery that scientology is advertising (it is enough to see their business models for example).
(This will obviously not work for them on the long run.)
