I managed to take parts from my old PC and get the SSD going. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7, and I must say that the speed is ridiculous. Anyway.. I also installed the USB 3.0 adapter using parts found in my old PC.

The part plugged into the card looks like that, but it isn't from my motherboard, it's a cable that's provided. From there, it has two cables that look differently, but each of them say Serial ATA. I plugged one of the cables into a 4 pin power cable using an adapter that I found in my old PC. Now, I don't know what to do with the other one. As of now, I got the drivers installed, and I thought I was good to go, but it's still only getting around 10Mb/s transfer rates, which isn't 3.0. Just so you know, I did buy a 3.0 enabled USB drive to use to check sure everything was working correctly, which it isn't. What should I be doing next?

What device are you transfering data to/from?

I have USB 3.0 ports, but I only get ~10MB/s sometimes transfering to my external because it's USB2.0, and if I'm doing nothing else at all I'll get around 30MB/s

A-DATA Superior Series 8GB S102 USB 3.0 Flash Drive.

Using the 3.0 port.

Transferring a 1.2GB file from the flash drive, to my SSD, I get 75MB/s.
Transferring a 1.2GB file from the SSD to my flash drive, I get 10MB/s.

Using the 2.0 port.

Transferring a 1.2GB file from the flash drive, to my SSD, I get 30MB/s.
Transferring a 1.2GB file from the SS to my flash drive, I get 12MB/s.

I didn't think this was normal, and tech support wasn't helpful at all. It doesn't really make sense to me. I thought that 3.0 was supposed to completely destroy USB 2.0. I was imagining speeds from 90-110MB/s both ways.
