Figured this should be in computer talk...

Anyway my view is that desktop computers and physical computers are going to go away in like 25 years. It's going to be just networks. You will just have a device and the hardware will be somewhere else and you can get what ever you need through that device. Calls, internet, orders or anything of the kind. Now enthusiasts will still have their comps but other than that it will just but networks with remote hardware. That's just a summed up version of what I think will happen. Didn't read everyone's post so if you already said this or something similar.

Yeah, the tendency is more and more like this one. Though I would hate to rely on some remote hardware, probably it will end up like you have said. However there is still much to be done to maintain a fast and worldwide network as some countries barely have internet connections at all even today.

Hahah we are near nothing the laws of physics and chemistry! Obviously there has to be something deeper than PHYSICS itself.

And, if we are near it, why don't we have these weird subatomic light particles blah blah for computer chips... Don't assume the possible just because imagination in current inventions isn't as such!
Are you on crack? I mean seriously, what the fuck are you saying here?

I probably should have posted in it computer talk.

Maybe we'll find something completely new. But mainly what I am saying is that, as far as increasing the transistors in a chip and making the fine details smaller... there's not much more we can do past 14nm. Architecture will improve a little more.

The network idea already exists. I forgot what it's called, some companies use it to reduce costs, prevent equipment from being stolen, etc. My old work tried it once... only problem was, the remote computer was absolute shit, and our workstation would grind to a complete halt if everyone was logged on at once. It does nothing to improve the speed of computers. Just reduces costs.

Yes, it is funny when you have work to do and your finely configured workstation takes 20 minutes to log in. Also this may work in a company with a stable and fast connection but to make it work at every home with a steady and good speed is probably far far away.
