Well, I figured it was time to upgrade the old graphics and I have my heart set on the GTX 560 TI. I was going to replace my ENGTX 275. I was wondering how bad I would bottleneck the 560. My specs are in my signature.

Bottleneck only happens when you do something that needs a lot of power and 1 cannot keep up. You wont bottleneck unless you do something extremely cpu intensive. The only cpu intensive game I know of is BC2. So do not worry about bottlenecking.

I thought bottlenecking was when you have something like fast graphics and a crappy processor that can't keep up, or something along the line of that.

C2Q isn't crappy, you won't bottleneck at all. Most games these days require much more on the GPU end than the CPU end anyway, it's better to focus more money on the GPU.

you definitely will hit a cpu bottleneck in some titles at lower resolutions.

push up your little baby overclock a little to help, 3ghz should be a joke to get.

Push it even higher. A lot of cpus have dead zones. SO like 2.8 - 3.2 could be unstable but 3.3 could work easily.

With some more fiddling i got it to 2.73.

And i only have 800MHz ram so my FSB cant go above 400MHz I thought? Or am I mistaken? Its at 390 right now.

run a divider, you don't need to keep it 1:1.

How does one run a divider? My ram OC's with my fsb of course so my ram is actually at 1620mhz because I underclocked its ratio to 1:3 instead of 1:4.

depends on the motherboard, my gigabyte board calls it system memory multiplier and makes every effort possible to make it as confusing as possible at first glance.

2.00 is 1:1 for me

at 3ghz my fsb would be 333.
333 fsb * 2.40 = 800 (so 400 effectively)

400 / 333 = 1.2 (roughly)
6 / 5 = 1.2

2.40 is 5:6
