It can be technical if you want, chances are I'll know what you're talking about. I've looked everywhere for PS3 custom firmware, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, only proof and boards that say it's been done.
I also heard you can jailbreak it with a calculator, but I only have a flash drive. any idea on how I'll do this? _________________

Download the AutoBoot Direct 2.3 PS3 archive
Put in a blank DVD in your computer, and format it. Name the disk "FLPR_GAME"
Open the .rar archive.
Mount "flpr_mcsinc.iso" into the disk. BURN AT A SLOW SPEED!
When done, put the disk in the PS3. It should install a new screen.
Put in the folder "DirectInstall" on your flash drive, and put it on your flash drive. Put it in, go to the screen, pick the option "External Drive Play" and wait for Auto Boot to install.
When done installing, your system will be soft modded.
You can download cheats, put it on a flash drive and play with them, but your system must not be patched, because Sony patched this.
But, you can still play back ups,,pirated games, and you can still save the game and play without a disk, sony only patched thd cheats _________________
