I'm going to go ahead and recommend my LAN box rig in the comp. spec. thread until you post an actual budget amount. I have absolutely no idea where you received word for a 5980 (which does not exist... yet), and unless you spawn hundreds of thousands of AI the CPU would have little impact in SC2, overkill for AC2. Another advice is to go with the AMD 68xx series cards for now, as they can be found cheaper than the 58xx whist having considerably better performance over the 5830 and 5850.
TR;DR: post a budget.

For a $2000 budget, you would be looking at something pretty powerful.
And that leaves $400 for other stuff.

Any time bro. Are you gonna go with that one?
Also, what about screen/keyboard/mouse/speakers/operating system?

Oh my god guys fucking seriously? THE 58XX SERIES IS FASTER THAN THE 6800 SERIES GOD I HATE THIS SECTION.
If you are going with 2000 budget go with SLI'd gtx 460 as the scalability is up to 95% efficient.
Also do not go with intel as that socket is going to be EOL when the new socket comes out within less than a year, I would recommend AMD for future upgrades (make sure it is a 8xx series chipset for compatibility with bulldozer chips), as it will still support AM3. Also the H70 is easily out performed by many higher end air heatsinks (such as the Arctic Cooler 64 Pro)
Also for the HDD get either Western Digital (Black series) or Samsung (F3 series) as they have longer life use time, and are also better in quality in general.
For the PSU go with a maybe 850w Seasonic or Corsair (make sure it is a gold or bronze 80plus one) as a top end system (im talking intel i7 24gb ram and what have you) with two 460's SLI'd draw at most 650w.
Also form your own opinions, do not let people fool you. Do your research.
Also see guide which shows all parts prices and gives you a good estimate of total cost.

Actually only the 5870 is faster than the current 68xx series, and that too will be replaced by the upcoming 69xx series in November. Also, AMD confirmed that with the introduction of Bulldozer there will be a new chipset and socket (AM3+/AM3r2), though it will still have backwards compatibility with the current AM3 socket but losing some features in the process.

"Advanced Micro Devices said that its next-generation desktop processors code-named Zambezi will use socket AM3+ platforms, which will be backwards compatible with the firm's existing AM3 products"
Straight from the horses mouth, it will be compatible.

Already said so. Let's stop this already.
@OP: really, $2000? My suggestion would be to wait for the newer tech to come out later this year, then reconsider the rigs.

Just researched some more with my cousin's laptop and i'm dumping the i5-680 and radeon 6870 the config you suggested is much better btw i live in Bulgaria which is in Europe and right next to Turkey so these links aren't valid for me.
EDIT i forgot to say i'm getting a pirated copy of win 7 ultimate 64 bit(later on i might buy a real win 7 though).
