Wow, I've never seen EA release any of their titles to the public domain. I may have to rethink my opinion of the company.

You don't need to. They have done this just before they have released C&C 4. They wanted some attention for the upcoming game with releasing the old ones for free. Just marketing.
But it is still cool. I have missed the 2nd C&C long ago so I have downloaded it when it became free.

Back in February according to Google but I didn't notice it til the other day when I saw someone mention it on another forum. Figured I'd post it in case anyone else missed it.
