How do I cheat?

hi i just picked up this game recently. anyway i tried to cheat this game using cheat engine. after searching for the address i have eliminate it down to 1 address. so i change the value to x. in game my ammo value was shown as x but when i shoot and reload, it revert back to its original value. whats wrong here. i have narrowed the possible address to 1 so it shld be accurate. can someone pls teach me how to cheat this game?

You need to freeze the address after changing it.

why would you cheat in SoC? ammo isnt that rare...
