| Works like a charm! Installed FTP server, copied some games to my PS3s' HDD, played some Blur, Sonic, Singularity, Ratchet & Clank, and Heavy Rain. All games I do not own on disc. I'm now backing up my own games for faster load times.

But I thought you needed the Psjailbreak. How did you do it?

| I had to install 'Rockbox' on my iPod, which is an alternative OS for the iPod (open source). Then I had to plant a modded rockbox.ipod in the .rockbox folder, made by a homebrewer, and just use my iPod like others use the PSJailbreak. It uses PSGroove by the way.

The beauty of it is that you don't need to format your iPod. You can just uninstall Rockbox once you're done with it. But I must warn you, it might go wrong, in which case you'll lose all your music.
Concerning the USB stick question: no. The entire thing depends on being able to simulate a USB HUB which gets overloaded (stack overflow) so the PS3 fucks up the loading and goes into DEV mode at startup. A simple USB stick doesn't have a controller for that. Also, the rockbox trick only works for 5th generation iPods, due to having a chipset which supports this method of overloading.

Ha, rockbox. So many fucking great times. Get Ipod linux instead and then that one gameboy emulator. The one built into rockbox is slow and shitty.

Wauw, a gameboy emulator! I can play PS3 games from my internal HDD on the PS3 with Rockbox though: can iPod Linux do that?

Buy a second PS3, play the online games on there. If you buy a game every month, you'll make a profit after five months if you Jailbreak one of the two. I already have three times the amount of games I had prior to jailbreaking my PS3.

First gen. The iPod Nano 1G is the first of the fifth generation iPods. http://build.rockbox.org.
