I haven't played properly in a few months but if you need any help ask me and I will try.
If you want to get to level 20 fast I suggest factions but prophecies will probably teach you more about the game.
Also green items are decent but gold are the best (If they have perfect stats (max damage+req 9/ Cool

You can mod them and they have cooler skins)

PvX wiki is a good place to look for builds.

if you're a beginner, i don't recommend you going as W/Mo as your first character.
and use this site http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page when you're first starting off. they have lots of great builds.
