Well, NYC sounds pretty good.
I like the idea of visiting a big city.
I have only lived in Canberra (pop 300,000) and Port Moresby (pop 300,000).
The biggest city I have visited in probably Sydney (pop 4.5m)
So 22m or whatever is alot.
Always longed to be in a huge city...

New York city is pretty cool, pretty scary in some parts and not the kinda place you would want to get out of your car. If you go to the nicer areas its fun though.

Actually it isn't.
It's based on where you're going, what you want to do and what you look like.
Nobody here really likes tourists, if you're in a ghetto looking like a tourist and being a douchebag, of course you're asking for trouble. If you're in downtown Manhattan, really, nobody cares. You can do whatever you want.
I urge you to visit NYC. There really are some great spots here.

Interesting. Well, the only two options I seem to have for easy flights are:
Los Angeles and New York City.
They both fly direct to Halifax, and I can go Brisbane-LA direct, and get to NYC with only one small connection.

You're probably gonna want to stick with Cali if you're going in January. Either LA or San Diego, they're both pretty solid.

Is that because of temperature? I am coming from Papua New Guinea, a very very tropical country. But after this one week I will be in Halifax. And apparently that shit gets cold.

In common usage, "America" refers to the US. You know this, and rather than admitting you made a mistake, pull the semantic card in an attempt to still look right.
Of course, you could have been trolling all along, laying the bait and acting like Ontario is part of America, once again due to semantics. Then when someone corrects you, you'll jump out and post "WELL TECHNICALLY BLAH BLAH" with an elitist attitude, trying to prove a point, not realizing that what may technically be the correct name is not always what is used commonly.

If you had noticed, I had said New york before anything.
I realised that Canada is part of America, so I changed my answer.
