Everything had a finite beginning. Everything has a finite end. Whether God created all things, or man created the idea of God is irrelevant. When enough people believe in an idea it becomes the institution. If however God does exist, and God created us that we may worship him, as the bible tells us. Then he is guilty of pride. One of the 7 deadly sins.

I think it's more likely that God exists, but it's not exactly the God we would expect.

This reminds me of that animated gif of the guy where he like starts folding into himself in a circle then disappears into himself. O__O;

You mean something like...

I disagree with your answer though. Something is always happening and something always will. There is no end to everything, nor is there a beginning.

Philosophically though every end is a beginning and every beginning is the start of the end.

I agree there is always something and there always has been something and there always will be, but did God exist before man?

When we die will there be nothing? This I find hard to believe, no I don't believe in an afterlife, but living things are composed of cells. These cells arrange themselves based on chemical reactions with cells around them. You move by electrical and chemical impulses through your body. So why not when you die, this electrical energy is released back into everything, will you continue to be you in this state?

Ricardo, I was thinking more along the lines of The Flying Spaghetti monster but that one works too.

I don't like the whole god thing. C'mon mate. If it ain't religion its still something. Let's all find a good medium to channel our beliefs that isn't the big fat God.

Also it seems you're too focused on Biology. It ain't cells.

cells > atoms > quarks > string theory particles.

Cells can degenerate but the atoms they are made of will stay the same (theoretically).

The thing is, there's no way to destroy matter. So if matter is constant then there can be no beginning nor end because that would require destroying or creating matter. God would come in handy here, but what if he doesn't exist?

What then?

The one and only answer:
We, as humans cannot comprehend thus far as we do not think that way.

this is an intuitive approach in our universe. what's beyond our universe is unknown. there might be another universe where things are different.

using god, by definition is unknown, to explain events is horrible. richard dawkins coined the term "god of the gaps". we use the term god to explain gaps in events we do not understand.

we might never be able to know what happened before the big bang. how can we observe what's outside our universe?
