Actually I am Legend was going to be a great movie but then they changed the ending to make it audience friendly.

In the original ending Will Smith realizes that the zombies were attacking him to rescue the zombie he kidnapped in order to experiment on. That was the entire point of the movie...

So don't be wondering why it sucked.
