What do you guys think?
I think people shouldn't do it unless they need to for a medical reason because they could end up scarring themselves in more ways than one.

I agree with OP. Plastic Surgery is nasty. If it is needed due to a medical emergency then thats fine, but people doing all that shit to look better is shit. _________________

| I suppose if it helps people with confidence or makes them happy with themselves it can't be that bad, but on the other hand it can go over the top. I really think that it is the persons choice and if it helps them it can't be that bad. |

It really depends on the person and what makes him/her happy.
Personally, I wouldn't do it if you put a gun to my head. |

I agree, and sometimes there are people who live in countries that don't always have laws protecting them against the blackmarket surgeons. That can lead up to botched jobs and ruined faces along with wasted money. |

I'm 100% sure that the smartest person on the earth wouldn't do this. Well if it was someone like (Einstein & Hawking) people that have good idealism compared to superior memory... _________________

So what? My point is that as long as it helps them with their self image who are we to say it is bad/stupid? I personally would never have it done. |

Plastic are for those who cannot accept the reality that they're getting old.
Old people does have their unique beauty that it take years to achieve.
Look at Betty White and even though she's 88, she looks vibrant. _________________

What about those with injuries? (Like the lady who took a shotgun blast to the face) |

That is reconstructive surgery which is different than plastic surgery.
Plastic surgery is to enhanced oneself like if your old and got wrinkles. You inject botox into your skin to make you look young again.
Reconstructive surgery is to repair an individual after serious injuries where extreme measures needs to be taken in order to rebuild their lives. The woman with the shotgun blast to the face and Aisha TIME Cover is getting a reconstructive surgery but if a person needs plastic surgery for medical reasons then that can be supported. _________________

If it is medically relevant to be needed, I see no harm.
If it is due to someone who is saying they cannot live without it or because they dislike themselves, I don't think it should be done. The person whom is in that situation will just land up there again sooner or later about another dislike of themselves. Becoming a repeating cycle. Lack of self-esteem shouldn't grant people the ability to change themselves.
But.. in the end, it's all about money. _________________

My opinion would be that everyone should be able to request alteration to his or her body in any form or way that they find necessary. No matter the reason, no matter the concequenses.
They are responsible for their bodies and the alteration. It was their choice and even if it kills them, they will be responsible. The doctors should not be responsible for the death of a subject when they decided that they should be doing plastic surgery. |
